An NFPFS supported FFS Training for REFILS Facilitators, Master Trainers, Site Managers and EA Facilitators in Anambra State and selected States in the SE and SS Zones is scheduled to hold in Akwa, Anambra State from, Mon. May 22nd thru Thurs.May 26th. 2011.
The Training is primarily to review the FFS implementation challenges in Nigeria and impart the FFS global best practices to participants to ensure effective and hitch-free implementation of the FFS strategy in Nigeria. Participants are expected to bring along with them the report of the FFS Status in their States.

NIFAAS LAUNCHED IN NIGERIA.
ReplyDeleteThe Nigerian Forum for Agricultural Advisory Services (NIFAAS), the country forum of the African Forum for Agricultural Advisory Services (AFAAS, was recently launched (June 23rd)in Nigeria, to provide leadership for the overall development of effective and proactive Agricultural Advisory Services (AAS) in the country to make effective contributions into the Comprehensive Africa Agricultural Development Program (CAADP) processes, including, providing policy inputs into the development of CAADP Processes .It operates on the FAAP Principles.
The African Forum for Agricultural Advisory Services (AFAAS) is the umbrella organization for Agricultural Advisory Services (AAS) in Africa. Its objective is to create efficient, effective and synergistic linkages and partnerships between AAS of member countries to improve the delivery of these services to farmers. It operates within the framework of Pillar IV of the Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Program (CAADP), which is spearheaded by the Forum for Agricultural Research in Africa (FARA). Hence FARA is supporting the institutional development of AFAAS.
Objectives of NIFAAS:
• Bring together AAS actors/stakeholders
• To lead AAS development at National level and linking AAS Stakeholders with the CAADP Processes
• To exchange information on best global practices
• To share experiences and lessons
• To identify opportunities for providing services in line with best global practices for both AAS providers and clients alike.
